The kids wanted to help, but that didn't last long!

Okay, So mom and dad have this crazy idea of switching the kids rooms around. They want to put Tristan and Gavin in Allyson's room and Allyson in Tristan and Gavin's room. Why you ask well, Allyson is in the larger room with a higher ceiling at the moment and with the boys having a bunk bed we need to put them in there. So it is a work in progress. One step at a time. We have started by taking the wall paper boarder down. Whomever created wall paper needs to be drown and quartered in public while their parents watch! (Mark's wording). Mom started while dad was gone. After about an hour of really no success she went online and found the wonder concoction of fabric softener, vinegar and warm water. Spray and let set and it comes off much better. But before we spray we have to remove the top layer. This is where the kids come in. They really wanted to help, well that did not last very long. They helped long enough to get some pictures and that is all. Mom was using a small paint scrapper. It was taking a long time. So when dad got home he came in with the big scrapper. He finished the room up. That was mom's plan all along. There is still this plastic like film left which we could not fully remove. We will just have to sand it down.

The moral of this story, Never use wall paper even as a boarder unless you plan to keep it up forever!!

I hate wallpaper and will NEVER put it up in my house. Border and all. Good luck. What a work to do.
